The first decent bottle of whiskey I ever drank was a 12 year old Jameson, I drank it on Christmas day on an oil tanker, about 500 miles from land in the middle of the Indian Ocean, on that day I’d never felt further from home and yet there was something familiar in the taste of that bottle, something reassuring.
